Happy Summer!!

Summer is here!  Make sure you protect yourself while having fun.  The sun not only damages the skin, it can cause harm to the hair as well.   Please protect your hair as well as your skin from the sun's rays and remember to stay hydrated.

Now that summer is in full force, it is important to take care of your hair. I suggest the following haircare regiment:

Make sure you shampoo regularly.

The combination of sweat, chlorine and salt water can be extremely damaging to the hair.   If your hair has been exposed to chlorine or salt water, I suggest you shampoo your hair using a shampoo designed to remove salt water and chlorine from the hair.  The type of shampoo that is regularly recommended is a clarifying shampoo.   Even though it is summer, still visit your stylist for those treatments and trims.

Don't forget your skin:

Just because it is summer, is no reason to stop moisturizing the skin.   Make sure you use moisturizers appropriate for the condition and and texture of your skin.

Wear a floppy hat.

Choose lighter frangranced perfumes instead of heavy ones.  Heavy perfumes are usually reserved for colder months.   However, keep in mind heavier perfumes should be used sparingly even in colder weather.

If you perspire heavily, you may want to keep fresh towelettes, a portable battery operated fan and a spray bottle filled with cold water to cool you off when the heat starts to get the best of you.

Stylin' and Profilin':

Keep that mani and pedi current. Nothing is worse than exposing cracked heels and polish while wearing a stylish fly outfit.

Remember to drink plenty of water and seek shade as often as possible.  Have a great summer!

Spring Cleaning

Spring is finally here.  Consider this a great time to clean out your closet and reorganize!  Moving those winter items to another room or closet will help declutter and organize your main closet.  Nothing is better than feeling light and refreshed with a closet full of bright beautiful items.   There are a few items needed for a refreshed wardrobe but first we must give away some old to prepare for the new.  Happy Spring!!
